Getting Started

Getting Started & the Engagement Lifecycle

Getting Started

  1. Reach out. Email siegepoint@answerpoint.com with what you want tested and any deadlines or compliance drivers.
  2. Scoping conversation. We agree targets, objectives, attack surfaces in scope, testing windows, and the target Surrender Level for each surface.
  3. Paperwork. You sign an authorization-to-test letter and rules of engagement. Nothing begins before that is in place.
  4. Test & report. We execute, then deliver findings and evidence of the level reached, with a prioritized remediation path.
You don't need a portal account to start — a first engagement can run entirely over email and signed documents. The Client Portal is a convenience for tracking scope, findings, and reports.

The Engagement Lifecycle

Every engagement moves through five stages, each on the record:

  1. Scope — define targets, objectives, windows, and the target Surrender Level together.
  2. Authorize — signed authorization-to-test letter and rules of engagement (your get-out-of-jail paperwork).
  3. Execute — testing runs on the documented methodology, fully scoped and logged, guardrails on.
  4. Report — findings by severity and CVSS, evidence of the level reached, and a prioritized fix path.
  5. Remediate — a retest verifies the fixes held before the engagement closes.
